East Ridge Quotes
Tell Us the Job. We’ll Price It.
Garment, quantity, deadline. That is all a East Ridge quote takes, and it is free.
Bad Shirts Usually Start With the Wrong Blank
Nobody calls a print shop asking about fabric. They call about art, quantity and a deadline. Then the boxes show up, somebody pulls a shirt out, and it feels thin, or it feels like a tarp, or the neck already looks tired. The ink was fine. The screens were fine. The blank was wrong for the job.
That is the part of a custom t-shirt order in East Ridge that gets skipped, and it is the part we spend the most time on before a single screen gets burned.
Here is how we think about it.
Weight is not the same thing as quality
A 6.0 oz heavyweight cotton tee and a 4.3 oz ring-spun tee are both good shirts. They are good at different things. Heavyweight cotton holds a big front print without showing much through, takes abuse in a warehouse or on a jobsite, and survives industrial laundry. Lightweight ring-spun drapes softer, prints with a finer hand, and is what people actually reach for when a fundraiser shirt sits in a drawer next to their favorite tee.
If your East Ridge order is work shirts for a crew, we push heavier. If it is a merch run or a church youth trip, we push softer. If you ask for "just a normal t-shirt," we will ask you where it is going to be worn, because the answer changes the blank.
Cotton, poly and blends behave differently under heat
Polyester is where custom shirts in East Ridge most often go wrong, and it is worth understanding before you pick a color. Dyed polyester can migrate under a curing dryer, which means a red poly shirt with a white print can turn that print pink days after it ships. That is not a printing mistake, that is chemistry. We handle it with low-cure inks and blocker underbases, but the smarter first move is choosing a blank that is not fighting us.
Tri-blends print with a soft, vintage look that a lot of people love and some people hate, because coverage is intentionally lighter. Fifty-fifty blends sit in the middle and are the safe answer for most spirit wear and most fundraiser shirts. One hundred percent cotton is still the most predictable surface for screen printing when the design has hard edges and solid blocks.
Performance fabrics need a different process entirely
Team uniforms in East Ridge are almost never plain cotton anymore. Moisture-wicking jerseys, dri-fit practice tees and warmups are polyester, and full-color art on those garments is usually better as sublimation or as DTF transfers than as traditional screen printing. Sublimation dyes the fiber itself, so there is nothing to crack or peel. DTF handles small runs and complicated color counts without the setup a screen job needs.
We will tell you which one your garment can actually take. Sublimation only works on light polyester. DTF works on nearly everything, including cotton, blends and performance. That single fact decides a lot of East Ridge orders.
Hoodies are a garment decision before they are a print decision
Custom hoodies in East Ridge fall into two piles. Fleece-lined heavyweight pullovers are what schools and teams want for sideline and spirit wear, and they take a bold chest print or a thick embroidered left chest without complaint. Lightweight and fashion-fit hoodies look better on a merch table and photograph better, but a heavy embroidery stitch count on a thin fabric will pucker. Choosing the hoodie first and the decoration second saves the whole run.
Embroidery lives or dies on structure
Embroidered polos in East Ridge need a stable knit. A cheap pique with too much stretch will distort under the hoop no matter how good the digitizing is. Same story with custom hats. Structured caps hold a clean 3D puff or a flat embroidered logo. Unstructured dad hats look great and are extremely popular, but the design has to be drawn for them, smaller and simpler, or the front panel collapses around the stitching.
When you send us a logo for embroidery, we digitize it for the garment it is going on. A logo stitched for a polo is not the same file as the one stitched for a beanie.
Small text is the quiet killer
Screen printing in East Ridge can hold surprisingly fine detail. Embroidery cannot. A tagline that reads perfectly on a printed shirt turns into fuzz at half an inch of stitching. If your logo has a small sub-line under it, we will usually recommend printing it, dropping it, or moving it to a place on the garment where it can be bigger. That conversation happens before production, not after.

Why East Ridge Customers Send Us the Work
Express Screen Printing & Embroidery has been family-owned since 2001 and is veteran-operated. The rating sitting on our Google listing is 4.6 stars across 71 reviews, and we would rather point you at that than talk about ourselves.
The steadier proof is who reorders. We are the primary sports apparel supplier to Cleveland-area schools and to the Boys and Girls Club, which means uniforms, spirit wear and fundraiser shirts get made here on a repeating schedule with real deadlines attached. Nobody keeps that kind of account by guessing at garment specs.
Our turnaround is 10 to 14 business days from an approved proof. That clock starts when you sign off on the mockup, not when you first email us, so getting artwork and garment choices settled early is what actually protects your date. We are closed weekends, so plan pickups and approvals for Monday through Friday.
One thing worth being straight about. Our shop is at 15 Broad St NW in Cleveland TN, not in East Ridge. We serve East Ridge, we run East Ridge orders constantly, and it is a short drive up I-75 if you want to see garment samples in person before committing to a blank. That drive is usually worth it on a first order.
Nearby Towns We Print For
East Ridge sits right against the Georgia line and blends into the south side of Chattanooga, so the orders we run out of this area rarely stop at the city limits. We handle screen printing, embroidery, custom hats and team uniforms for Chattanooga businesses and schools, for Ringgold GA teams and churches just across the state line, and for Ooltewah families, leagues and shops on the other side of the ridge.
Same shop, same minimums, same 10 to 14 business day turnaround from approved proof no matter which of those towns your order is coming from. Pickup in Cleveland works for a lot of customers. Shipping works for the rest.
Questions East Ridge Customers Actually Ask
I have no idea what shirt to pick. Can you just choose for me?
Yes, and that is the normal path. Tell us where the shirt is going, who is wearing it and what your budget per piece looks like, and we will come back with one or two blanks that fit instead of a catalog.
Can I mix shirt colors and sizes in the same twelve piece order?
Sizes, yes, freely. Colors, usually yes on the same design, though ink color and garment color have to make sense together. Send the mix with your quote request and we will confirm it before proofing.
My logo looks blurry when I blow it up. Is that a problem?
It can be. We need vector art or a high resolution file for clean screen printing, and embroidery needs the logo digitized either way. If all you have is a small file, say so up front and we will tell you what it takes to fix it.
Why does my order have to be twelve pieces for screen printing but one piece for DTF?
Screen printing has real setup behind it, screens burned and presses registered, so it only makes sense at volume. DTF transfers and laser engraving and sublimation have no screen setup at all, which is why the minimum drops to one.
Will printing on a dark polyester jersey ruin the colors?
It can if it is handled carelessly, since dye migration is a genuine risk on polyester. We use low-cure inks and blockers when the fabric calls for it, or we move the job to sublimation or DTF, depending on the garment.
How firm is the 10 to 14 business day window?
It is our standard, measured from the day you approve the proof. Delays almost always come from artwork rounds or garment changes made after approval, which is why we push to settle the blank early.
